Base Layers

Base layers are an important piece of alpine clothing, as they help your body to mange moisture.  Our base layers are available in synthetic fabric or a mixture of synthetic and marino wool. 

A good base layer system will draw moisture away from your skin while you are doing activities and they will also help to keep you warm and dry.  When your body gets wet, you’ll start to feel cold, so opt for technical base layers.

A common mistake is to wear cotton based tee shirts or long sleeve tops as they look similar.  Only when you get hot and sweaty will you soon find that the cotton clothing is wet and suddenly cools your body temperature too quickly and too low.
