Mondraker 2012

Mondraker Offices in Alicante, Spain

If you love mountain bikes then this is a very exciting time of year.  Not only do we get long, dry days and evenings to ride but the new 2012 bikes are getting specced up too.

Mondraker are ahead of some other European manufacturers in many ways.  They have great bikes, with an alpine focus.  But unlike some brands they are pretty open about the new range.  We have just flown back from Alicante where they are based after spending a mad 48 hours running around the offices, factory and the beach.

Its refreshing to be the first to see the new stuff, have confirmed specification and prices in July.  We managed to get some photos of the new Mondraker 2012 bikes and will be featuring them here later next week.

Mondraker Factory in Spain

The guys at Mondraker are cool.  We were allowed to tour the factory, meet the mechanics who hand build each of the Foxy, Dune, Summum, Zenith, Durham, all in Alicante, Spain.

We were even allowed access to their prototype workshop and see how ideas are created and tested.

Although Mondraker do make some carbon bikes the main advantage for us is the all aluminium frame technology that weighs in almost as low as carbon, but with the reliability and impact resilience of a softer metal.  We expect this small niche brand to really start to make its mark on the UK market.

Can’t wait for the upcoming models! Mondraker have developed their bikes a lot in the past years, they are doing an amazing job and getting more quality in their frames each year.

Proud (ex-Finalist, ex-Factor) and now a Foxy owner!
