The Penultimate event of the EYRR series saw the race return to the Little Weighton circuit with Round 7 on the 21nd July 2011.
A lovely summers evening, lead to an extremely fast pace with the scratch group catching the other 4 groups inside three laps.
With such a high-pace the race was strung out with many riders struggling to hang onto the high pace being set by the scratch group at the front of the race.
Once the groups had come together, Ben Ives was very active, trying to break clear of the race several times.
In hindsight such a plan was probably not the best option as it left Ben dead-legged for the bunch sprint, causing him to finish a very disappointing 10th place and also lose his grip on the podium for the overall standings.
Ben will be looking to be a little smarter in the 8th and final race of the EYRR series and also be hoping for his rivals to finish behind him to still give him a shot at the podium for the overall.
